豳 [bīn] 1. Ancient place name, located in the southwest of Xunyi County in present-day Shaanxi Province, China. 2. Same as "邠". Ancient city name (English: Bin city). Located in present-day Chen County, Shaanxi. For example: - 豳州 (Binzhou, a name of a state established during the Western Wei, abolished during the Sui Dynasty, restored as a state during the Tang Dynasty, renamed Binzhou during the Kaiyuan period. This corresponds to the current Bin County in Shaanxi Province); - 豳风 (The "Bin Wind," one of the fifteen "Nationals" in the Book of Songs. It contains seven poems, many of which depict the lives of farmers and their hardworking efforts, representing China's earliest pastoral poetry.)
