How to write 禮

Meaning of 「禮」: 1. The traditional form of "礼". 2. The norms of human behavior. 3. A respectful attitude or behavior governed by rules, such as "to perform a bow" or "to be polite". Example: "Because of the lack of respect towards Jin, and leaning towards Chu" (from "Zuo Zhuan•Xi Gong thirty years"). 4. A ceremony, such as "official ceremony," "wedding ceremony," "funeral ceremony," or "coming-of-age ceremony." 5. A gift that expresses respect or courtesy. Example: "Sending a goose feather over a thousand miles, the gift is light but the sentiment is heavy." A surname. For example, during the Han Dynasty there was a person named Li Xian. 8. A ritual. Example: "Offering sacrifices to the moon and to the four rivers outside the north gate; offering sacrifices to mountains, rivers, and hills outside the west gate."
