豆 (dòu) 1. A family of dicotyledon plants, which includes both woody and herbaceous plants, such as "rosewood," "locust tree," "soybean," "mung bean," "red bean," "pea," "peanut," etc. These are collectively referred to as leguminous plants, and the term also refers to the seeds of these plants. 2.
