鲇 (nián)
1. 【名】鲇鱼 - A fish characterized by a large head, wide mouth, rounded and short tail, and slimy skin with no scales. Its back is dark gray, and its belly is white, featuring four whiskers on the upper and lower jaws. It hides in the mud during the day and comes out at night to move around. Its meat is edible, and its swim bladder is used in medicine. It feeds on small fish, shellfish, and frogs.
2. 鲇鱼 (siluroid) - Belongs to the order Siluriformes. It has a large head, laterally flattened tail, slimy skin, and is scaleless. For example: "鲇鱼上竹" (The catfish is slippery and hard to climb on bamboo; metaphorically indicates that progress is difficult).
