1. 水名 (Chu river). It is located in the eastern part of Anhui Province. It originates from the northeast of Feidong County, flows eastward through Chuxian County, and enters the Yangtze River in Liuhe County, Jiangsu Province. Originally written as "涂," it was changed to "滁" during the Tang Dynasty.
2. 古州名 (Chu prefecture). This refers to an ancient prefecture in the eastern part of Anhui Province, in the Chu River basin, adjacent to Jiangsu Province, traversed by the Jinpu Railway. Local specialties include "Chu chrysanthemum" and "Chuzhou bamboo basket." The area features the picturesque Langya Mountain, which is a popular tourist destination.
